The Director, Human Resources – Global Operations is the strategic HR leader supporting Global Supply Chain, Engineering, and Strategy teams, as well as providing direct HR leadership for the Lakewood and Littleton manufacturing sites. This role also oversees HR talent supporting factory operations in Costa Rica and Larne, ensuring globally aligned, locally relevant HR partnership across all operational locations.
This is an onsite role based in Lakewood, Colorado, requiring regular presence in the Littleton facility and close engagement with manufacturing teams on the floor. The Director leads a distributed team of HRBPs and must bring a proven track record of managing, developing, and elevating HR talent in complex, fast‑paced operational environments.
Reporting to the VP, Global HR Business Partners, this role is accountable for designing, aligning, and executing the People Strategy that enables associate engagement, organizational effectiveness, and talent outcomes that advance Terumo BCT’s operational and enterprise objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Strategic Business Partnering
- Serves as the HRBP for Global Supply Chain, Engineering, and Strategy leaders, shaping organizational priorities and enabling business performance through people strategies.
- Participates as a member of the Global Operations HR leadership team, ensuring alignment between enterprise HR priorities and operational needs across all manufacturing sites.
- Maintains a visible, hands‑on presence in manufacturing environments to understand operational realities and support leaders and associates effectively.
- Leads, coaches, and develops HRBPs, ensuring strong capability, consistent delivery, and a high‑performance team culture.
Talent Management
- Designs and drives a global talent strategy aligned to the People Strategy, ensuring robust succession pipelines, capability development, and talent mobility across all factory operations.
- Leads annual and cyclical talent processes, ensuring consistent application of frameworks and high‑quality outcomes across regions.
- Oversees talent development planning and ensures HRBPs are equipped to drive talent outcomes with their client groups.
Talent Acquisition & Employer Value Proposition
- Partners with Talent Acquisition to ensure strong pipelines for critical roles across manufacturing and technical functions.
- Strengthens the employer value proposition for operations‑related talent segments, ensuring competitiveness and alignment with market expectations.
Total Rewards
- Partners with the Total Rewards COE to implement compensation and benefits programs that support attraction, retention, and internal equity across all operational sites.
- Advises leaders on compensation decisions, job architecture, and market competitiveness.
Talent Development & Organizational Effectiveness
- Coaches leaders and develops HRBPs to elevate leadership capability, organizational health, and team effectiveness.
- Partners with COEs and cross‑functional teams (Legal, Finance, Communications) to support organizational design, change management, and performance management processes.
Learning
- Ensures alignment and delivery of general learning programs across operational sites.
- Partners with functional experts to support technical and functional learning needs.
HR Operations
- Oversees HR service delivery across global and factory operations, ensuring consistent processes, efficient operations, and high‑quality associate support.
- Ensures payroll and core HR processes are executed accurately and in compliance with local requirements.
Safety, Health, and Wellness
- Partners with the global response team to support associate safety, productivity, and well‑being across all factory operations.
- Drives site‑level wellness and safety initiatives through local HR teams.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
- Partners with HR and business leaders to embed DE&I principles into talent processes, hiring practices, and leadership behaviors across operational teams.
HR Compliance & Employee Relations
- Ensures adherence to global, regional, and local HR policies and employment laws.
- Must be fully knowledgeable in U.S. and Colorado‑specific employment laws and regulations, applying them consistently across Lakewood and Littleton.
- Maintains awareness of domestic and international HR requirements and ensures consistent application across sites.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reports to the VP, Global HRBPs and is a member of the Global HRBP leadership team.
- Collaborates closely with HR COEs and regional HR teams to ensure globally aligned, locally relevant HR solutions.
- Represents Terumo BCT within the broader Terumo global HR community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Master’s degree in Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, HR Management, or related field preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 12–15 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.
- Direct experience working in or supporting manufacturing environments—must demonstrate a hands‑on, floor‑engaged approach.
- Prior experience managing and developing HRBPs or HR teams, with demonstrated success building capability, elevating performance, and shaping team culture.
- Strong working knowledge of U.S. and Colorado employment laws and regulations required.
- International HR experience or exposure to multiple markets preferred.
- Depth in at least two areas: HRBP leadership, Organizational Development/Change Management, Total Rewards, Talent Management/Acquisition, or HR Operations.

Target Pay Range: $188,500.00 to $235,700.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 30.0%
