We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Global Sourcing – Direct Materials to lead sourcing initiatives across our global supply chain, with a focus on innovation, cost optimization, and supplier excellence. This leadership role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in medical device manufacturing, who thrives in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute procurement strategies that balance cost, quality and innovation, and align with business objectives.
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to ensure supply security, competitive pricing and priority.
- Lead supply performance reviews, manage KPIs and oversee contracts and compliance.
- Analyze commodity market trends to identify cost savings opportunities and mitigate risks and volatility.
- Deliver measurable cost savings through strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and value engineering.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, regulatory landscape and ESG.
- Provides strategic direction and leadership for direct materials category team.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to elevate the Procurement offering and value proposition.
- Implement tools and systems to enhance procurement efficiency and reporting.
- Anticipate and manage risks related to supply disruptions, marker shifts and regulatory changes.
- Develop contingency sourcing strategies to safeguard business continuity.
- Influences internal stakeholders to ensure successful strategy implementation.
- Directs the professional growth of team by providing individualized guidance, training and supervision.
- Delegates work assignments matching responsibility to the person and gives authority to work independently. Sets expectations and monitors delegated activities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team of procurement professionals and buyers
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Supply Chain organization.
- Collaborate and work cross functionally with other leaders to ensure alignment of procurement strategies with the Terumo BCT product development timelines.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters Degree desired.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years progressive management experience.
- Work with drug/device combination products is desired.
- Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments required.
- Experience with sourcing in a Global environment.
Skills
- Experience with ERP/procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle or JD Edwards
- Ability to negotiate complex contracts, strong contract management and supplier development capabilities.
- Ability to solve practical problems and interpret and communicate complex.
- Demonstrated creativity and the ability to think “outside the box”.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze a high level of detail and make educated decisions with limited data.
- Capacity to define and communicate planning and procurement challenges and provide guidance to top management in developing and implementing positive and proactive solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to interact productively and to effectively influence peers, external colleagues and senior management.
- Knowledge of current FDA regulatory and ISO requirements and trends impactingmedical devices.
- Capability to interact with diplomacy and tact while maintaining appropriate assertiveness and persistence.
- Ability to help management team balance planning and procurement requirements with business requirements and identify solutions to meet both sets of requirements.
- Willingness to take ownership and accept responsibility for actions and decisions.
- Must be detail oriented, well organized and able to work independently and in teams.

LOCATION
Lakewood, Colorado or Remote - Open to candidates willing to relocate to the Denver metro area.
TRAVEL
- There will be an occasional requirement to work outside of normal business hours, consistent with other Director-level positions.
- US and International travel will be required at < 25%.

Target Pay Range: $170,100.00 to $212,600.00 - Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base: 30.0%
