Director, Global Clinical Marketing, Therapeutic Systems



Strategic global leader to capture untapped potential to drive business growth, develop and implement strategy and elevate market presence for the Therapeutic Systems (TS) business area. The role focuses on filling a growth pipeline considering the entire continuum of care, by building market presence in new disease areas, capturing external opportunities through strong third-party relationships, identifying & implementing innovative business models, and translating all into more patients served. The position engages with and manages needs of key external stakeholders including patients, customer groups, associations, providers, payers, policy makers, and regulators.  Responsibilities handled independently with minimal direction while exercising considerable judgment in determining the objectives and strategies that will meet company objectives.  The position reports to the General Manager, TS.



  • Provide vision and direct leadership to Therapeutic Systems Marketing associates. Create energy and momentum within the team and with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic planning and 4P’s marketing management, engage in the delivery of strategies to drive growth in both developed and emerging markets across the care continuum for TS, including potential to address needs with adjacent markets and white space opportunities. Capture external opportunities through third party relationships.
  • Drive insights and needs assessment for our customer’s key stakeholders (regulators, payors, policy makers) to increase market access, influence standards of care and improve patient and therapy outcomes across the care continuum.
  • Analyze metrics to constantly evaluate the effectiveness of the programs and initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve performance (from internal and customers’ perspectives) and develop tactics and tools to monitor and communicate results.
  • Contribute and provide input for the lifecycle management of the platforms and to the development of new products and services, driven by the Business Technology Leader.
  • Manage and develop cross-functional teams focusing on key competencies mapped to the success of overall business goals.
  • Financial and budget planning/forecasting, review, recommendations and tracking of key performance indicators.
  • Drive lead creation efforts within existing market segmentation and new market opportunities.
  • Partner with regional sales and marketing leaders in development and refinement of promotional pricing strategies and sales tools.
  • Track sales execution to target, co-own sales strategies, and drive commercial countermeasure to ensure plan execution.
  • Maintain a critical linkage and partnership with internal stakeholders including TS leadership, regional sales and marketing, global strategy & market development, market access, medical & clinical affairs, governmental affairs, regulatory affairs, and finance.



  • Drive understanding of customer needs/issues, market dynamics and competitive landscape in partnership with regional teams and communicate global trends.
  • Oversees projects of considerable complexity involving solutions to problems that affect the entire business and where errors in judgment and decision-making normally will result in failure to achieve goals critical to the maintenance and development of market share objectives, product marketability, and business profitability.
  • Effectively influence, collaborate, and communicate with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization, across functions and geographies, and with external business partners.
  • Interface regularly with internal and regional customer groups to solicit feedback and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build relationships with current and future external stakeholders providing high level targeted solutions for current and future development opportunities.
  • Maintain contacts involving significant responsibility with customers and other medical professionals, representatives of professional organizations with whom the business is affiliated, and professional/management levels within the business. 
  • Evaluate communication, documentation programs, and support tools for effectiveness through customer and sales force feedback as well as objective research.




Knowledge necessary to perform in this position is generally acquired through a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field.  MBA preferred. 



Minimum of 12 years of management experience in life sciences industry with specific focus on business strategy development, diverse marketing background and cross-functional leadership.

  • Demonstrated positive and effective management and leadership skills, including coaching and development of first and second level managers. Emotional intelligence to manage team energy and create an environment that promotes high productivity. Maintains a constructive and composed focus in facing and overcoming touchy situations.
  • Collaboration skills to work across groups by setting mutual goals, ensuring clarity of goals, and working together in ways which enhance business effectiveness. Ability to motivate diverse groups of managers (peers and other non-direct reports) with competing priorities and direction to work together toward common goals.
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing to multiple levels both internally and externally, including professional and creative presentation skills. Models open and honest communication.
  • Sound personal judgment and applications of creative solutions to solve problems effectively and efficiently. Demonstrated ability to lead others in problem solving and program development that demonstrates creativity and good judgment. Ability to build partnerships and work across functional and regional boundaries to quickly engage the most knowledgeable people in solving customer issues.

Approximately 30% travel to both domestic and international locations with extended work hours.

Target Pay Range:  $167,200.00 to $209,000.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  30.0%
