JOB TITLE: Director Digital Transformation, Chief of Staff

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Director Digital Transformation CoS will serve as a strategic thought partner to the VP Digital Transformation, playing a pivotal role in driving our organization's digital transformation initiatives while ensuring the seamless continuation of day-to-day IT operations. This critical position requires a highly skilled individual with a deep understanding of both traditional IT operations and cutting-edge digital technologies to drive transformation. The CoS will be instrumental in bridging the gap between our current technological landscape and our future digital aspirations, while maintaining operational excellence.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Strategic Planning and Execution:
    • Collaborate with the VP of Digital Transformation and other cross functional leaders to develop and refine the organization's digital transformation strategy
    • Translate high-level strategic objectives into actionable plans and initiatives
    • Monitor and report on the progress of digital transformation efforts across the enterprise
    • Identify and analyze emerging digital trends and technologies to inform strategic decision-making
  • Department Optimization:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of current IT and digital capabilities
    • Identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains within the department
    • Develop and implement optimization plans to streamline processes and enhance productivity
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of optimization efforts
  • Prioritization and Resource Allocation:
    • Work with function leadership to prioritize digital transformation initiatives based on strategic importance and potential impact
    • Develop and maintain a project portfolio management system to track and prioritize initiatives
    • Ensure optimal allocation of resources (human, financial, and technological) across various projects and programs
    • Regularly review and adjust priorities based on changing business needs and market conditions
  • Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as a liaison between the digital transformation office and other departments and entities within Terumo
    • Cultivate strong relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise to facilitate buy-in and support for digital initiatives
    • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and collaboration on digital transformation efforts
    • Prepare and deliver presentations to executive leadership on the progress and impact of digital transformation initiatives
  • Change Management:
    • Develop and implement change management strategies to support the organization's digital transformation journey
    • Create and execute communication plans to keep all stakeholders informed about digital transformation efforts
    • Identify potential resistance to change and develop mitigation strategies
    • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the organization
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Establish and maintain a robust system for tracking and reporting on digital transformation metrics
    • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for executive leadership on the progress of digital initiatives
    • Conduct periodic reviews of digital transformation efforts to identify areas for improvement and course correction
    • Develop and implement strategies to measure and communicate the ROI of digital transformation initiatives
  • Talent Development:
    •  Identify skill gaps within the organization related to digital transformation
    • Collaborate with HR to develop training programs and initiatives to upskill existing staff
    • Participate in the recruitment and selection of key personnel for digital transformation roles
    • Foster a learning culture that encourages continuous skill development and knowledge sharing
  • IT Operations Oversight:
    •  Ensure the continuity and efficiency of traditional IT operations during the digital transformation process
    •  Identify opportunities to integrate and optimize IT operations within the broader digital transformation framework
    • Collaborate with IT leadership to develop strategies for modernizing legacy systems and infrastructure
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess potential risks associated with digital transformation initiatives
    • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in all digital transformation efforts
    • Regularly review and update the organization's digital risk management

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 15 years of strategy, consulting, or related business experience

Prior experience in a Digital Transformation office and experience with executing change management strategies will be highly valued.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, traverse, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

 

 

Target Pay Range:  $235,800.00 to $294,700.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  30.0%
