Internal Corporate Communications Specialist

 

JOB SUMMARY

Key position in Corporate Communications department responsible to provide support for corporate communications campaigns, employee engagement events, brand, reputation and issues management and CSR activities. The position supports projects and businesses that span across the globe, as well as provides communications support for certain location-specific needs. Responsible for executing communications plans that employ existing and new channels to communicate key messages and advance the strategic priorities of the business.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Manages the development and timely execution of a wide variety of internal Communications projects that support the strategic and operating goals of the business.
  • Creates, edits, and distributes content based on the needs of internal business and program stakeholders
  • Influences and partners with cross-functional teams to develop and execute proactive and strategic communication initiatives.
  • Develops content for a wide variety of communications vehicles, including electronic and print publications, intranet, video, PowerPoint and social media tools.
  • Identifies relevant communications and engagement opportunities and evaluates their effectiveness; applies standards that promote continuity and consistency across the organization's communications practices.
  • Contributes to creating programming that helps facilitate culture change, inspires and educates associates, and drives engagement and business results.
  • Balances global and local communication needs with broader organization programs and initiatives.
  • Maintains communications calendar to keep track of what is distributed, when, and in what medium---responsible for monthly metrics recording and reporting of team output
  • Provides sound advice and effective communications counsel to leaders.
  • Establishes and publishes communication guidelines for all associates to use and proofing communications materials.
  • Monitors quality control of all documents produced.
  • Responsible for actively searching for stories of interest that may help in the promotion or support of internal programs, initiatives and corporate communications.
  • Collaborate with the ESG team to raise awareness of and engagement with the company’s ESG activities, help engage associates in volunteerism activities and tell our ESG story.
  • Analyzes, interprets and complies with government rules and regulations.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and evolution of team documents to ensure information is current, accurate, and relevant.
  • Coordinate translation requests, approvals and publication of documents.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.
  • Degree in Communications, Journalism or English is preferred.

 

 

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of corporate communications, journalism and associate communication and campaign executive experience.
  • Knowledge of managing campaigns, working with creative teams and coordinating internal events.
  • Working knowledge of AP Style.  

 

Skills

  • Ability to successfully communicate with a broad spectrum of audiences including associates, management, vendors, business partners, and community groups to reinforce company values and goals and good working relationships.
  • Requires outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Organization and flexibility are key; drive for results and a high-energy, "roll-up-your-sleeves" attitude and commitment to success are imperative.
  • Demonstrated skills as writer/editor with the knowledge to work with a wide range of communications vehicles, including video, webcasts, PowerPoint, social media tools and electronic publications.
  • Proficiency in the following software: Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Good listening and reporting skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Skilled flexibility in reacting quickly to a quick-changing and ever-changing environment and the ability to balance several projects at once.
  • Planning acumen to meet deadlines.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with events and logistics
  • Able to work independently to complete tasks.
  • Accurate editing and proofreading.
  • Fast learner with the ability to understand sometimes complex medical terminology and procedures.
  • Ability to use judgment and discretion in communications, including maintaining confidentiality in oral and written communication.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Target Pay Range:  $62,100.00 to $77,600.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
