This position provides strategic development, direction, and overall management for the Mechanical category by continuously improving the Company’s purchasing and sourcing practices to support the development, implementation, and management of global strategies to provide products and services needed at a competitive cost, quality, and delivery.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Development and execution of long-term category strategy.
  • Management and accountability for sourcing, planning, and supplier management.
  • Work closely with other departments throughout the company (such as R&D, Supply Chain, and Engineering) to evaluate and recommend sourcing and process improvement opportunities.
  • Perform spend analysis to manage supplier performance, gain visibility of total spend and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements of the company including JSOX.
  • Responsible for SAP Master Data management and provide input to the SIOP (Sales Inventory and Operations Planning) processes. 
  • Prepare RFx, analyze proposals, and make supplier selection based on total value proposition. 
  • Develop high-level negotiation strategies and partner with Business leaders and Legal to execute contracts.
  • Establish supplier development processes including the coordination and support onsite supplier assessment/certification audits and continuous improvement activities.
  • Cultivate a solid working knowledge of category trends including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, supply and demand material lead times, technical/manufacturing processes, and supplier market dynamics.
  • Drive supplier performance improvements.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

MBA preferred.

 

Experience

Minimum 8 years’ experience in similar role or related expertise.

Preferred- experience in electro-mechanical commodity.

 

Skills

  • Supplier relationship management & negotiation.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Executive-level communication and stakeholder management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently work through multiple issues by capitalizing on available resources and prioritizing accordingly.
  • Demonstrated use of comprehensive analytical skills to determine alternatives and present recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Ability to continuously improve and update knowledge and expertise in Category and Supply Chain Management.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or other relevant sourcing/procurement certification.

Target Pay Range:  $128,700.00 to $160,800.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
