Execute and implement effective procurement and sourcing strategies for Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies’ (TBCT) Indirect Procurement IT category, representing approximately $28M in spend. The category may include specified areas of IT services, peripherals, hardware, software, telecom, and other categories as assigned. Develop short-term and long-term strategies that align with the Company goals for reducing costs and meeting financial expectations. Continuously improve the Company’s purchasing practices by identifying and leading efforts to proactively consolidate category spend, manage supplier performance, mitigate risk, gain visibility to total spend and reduce cost. Perform spend analysis, market & supplier assessments to ensure best in class strategic sourcing strategies and category spend management.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Demonstrate deep knowledge of the Technology category and ability to translate that knowledge into useable outcomes for TBCT. Be a value-add advisor for the Technology team.
  • Ability to develop a well-documented Technology strategic sourcing plan from start to finish, including the development of RFIs and RFPs, collection of business requirement, supplier communication, criteria selection, and supplier negotiations in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to execute sourcing strategies that support business objectives and improves supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, and enhances service levels, while reducing risk. 
  • Maintain a pipeline of key initiatives to drive savings opportunities.
  • Actively seeks ways to streamline business processes and adds value by providing research and information on industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop negotiation strategies, gains alignment from stakeholders, lead cross-functional category-based negotiation teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis. Directly negotiate with suppliers.
  • Use spend information/data and business knowledge to identify sourcing projects for individual sub-categories and develops an overall plan.
  • Manage category performance by adhering to internal savings goals and reviewing financial spend.
  • Ability to forge close working relationships throughout the company at all levels.
  • Drive supplier performance improvements.
  • Prepare business cases, including ROI models and effectively presents cost savings proposals to appropriate parties for approval and qualification.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, legal and financial requirements (e.g., JSOX), and supplier quality reviews. 
  • Act as consultant to internal partners in the overall procurement process, i.e., strategic sourcing, negotiations, contracting, procurement operations, approvals, etc.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 8 years’ experience in similar role or related expertise.

 

Skills

  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, leadership, problem-solving and organizational skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently work through multiple issues by capitalizing on available resources and prioritizing accordingly.
  • Demonstrated use of comprehensive analytical skills to determine alternatives and present recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ability to thrive in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Ability to continuously improve and update knowledge and expertise in Category and Supply Chain Management.

 

TRAVEL

Willing to travel, if required.

 

LOCATION

Lakewood, Colorado strongly preferred. Open to remote for the right candidate.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), or other relevant sourcing/procurement certification.

Target Pay Range:  $96,600.00 to $120,800.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
