JOB SUMMARY

Reporting directly to the Plasma Business and Portfolio Management Director (Business Operations), the Business Operations Program Manager leads complex, cross-functional programs that support Plasma Business Unit strategic goals. This role supports R&D and operational goals and is responsible for defining program strategy, including business cases, budgets, and execution plans, while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

The position requires strong integrated program management skills to manage risks, dependencies, and competing priorities, ensuring efficient resource use and timely delivery of key milestones. Beyond coordination, the Program Manager owns program outcomes—driving accountability, improving performance, aligning stakeholders, and delivering measurable business results through disciplined execution and leadership.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Integrated Program and Project Leadership

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex, multi-project programs, integrating scope, schedule, budget, and resources into a unified execution plan
  • Drive milestone execution, proactively managing dependencies, constraints, and cross-project impacts
  • Provide a consolidated view of program health including timelines, risks, financials, and performance
  • Manage cross-functional R&D programs for medical device systems (software, hardware, disposables)
  • Lead core teams to ensure alignment and execution on business case, commercialization readiness, and resource planning
  • Manage operational initiatives from end-to-end focus on business impact and priorities

 

Strategic Planning & Execution

  • Support portfolio prioritization and alignment to business strategy
  • Ensure KPIs and initiatives maintain clear “line of sight” to organizational objectives

 

Operational Excellence

  • Drive process improvement through Lean/Six Sigma principles
  • Improve delivery efficiency, scalability, and process consistency across programs and initiatives

 

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate program risks and dependencies
  • Escalate and resolve issues to minimize impact on timelines and outcomes

 

Financial & Value Management

  • Develop and manage program budgets
  • Track ROI and value delivery against evolving business cases

 

Reporting & Governance

  • Establish structured program governance and performance tracking
  • Deliver clear executive-level reporting on progress, risks, and outcomes

 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Lead and influence teams across R&D, operations, and finance
  • Drive stakeholder alignment, decision-making, and accountability without direct authority

 

SKILLS

  • Ability to manage the full program and project lifecycle from initiation through close for medium to large, complex programs / projects
  • Proven capability to lead multiple concurrent workstreams and projects with varying size, scope, and complexity
  • Experience defining program strategy, including objectives, budgets, business cases, detailed work breakdown structures, and integrated schedules
  • Strong ability to identify, assess, and proactively manage risks, dependencies, and opportunities across programs
  • Demonstrated success driving execution of critical milestones and ensuring on-time delivery
  • Expertise in managing program constraints, interdependencies, and cross-project impacts within resource limitations
  • Ability to challenge teams and project managers to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and consistently meet commitments to deliver strategic initiatives and programs
  • Skilled in aligning cross-functional teams and maintaining accountability for program outcomes
  • Proficient in integrating financials, resources, and schedules into a cohesive program plan
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement, operational excellence, and value delivery

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in technical or business discipline or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

MBA or graduate degree strongly desirable, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Experience

  • 5 to 8+ years of proven experience in program management, operations, or project management
  • Medical devices or regulated industry experience preferred

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations, Tools

 

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certifications are highly valued.
  • Lean Six Sigma (LSS), Lean principles preferred
  • Tools: MS Project, Smartsheet, Jira and PowerBI; strong proficiency in Microsoft Suite (excel, word, PowerPoint)

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, traverse, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

ADDITIONAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Travel required (up to 15%)
  • Hybrid Position with minimum 4 days / week in the office; if relocation required at canditate’s own expense

 

Target Pay Range:  $133,700.00 to $167,100.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  10.0%
