Associate Software Engineer

 

JOB SUMMARY

Under direct supervision, performs maintenance on existing software products for third party customers. Assist in coding, testing, and debugging new software or making modifications to existing software for third party customers. Writes programs according to specifications and technical standards from high level staff or business analysts.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software.
  • Assist in the development of software involving routine application of proven, well-documented techniques with minimal technical risk. Participate in the formation of projects goals, scope and schedule.
  • Works with technical staff to learn and understand problems with software.
  • Make suggestions for problem solutions or software enhancements.
  • Has frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques.
  • Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems.
  • Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.
  • Ensures software standards are met.
  • Conducts simple investigative analysis and tests. Participates in code/automated test reviews.
  • Works to ensure performance, reliability, quality, and security best practices are adhered to.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Interact on a regular basis with other functional groups and customers on technical and/or administrative matters.
  • Maintain knowledge of the industry and Company regulatory and software quality standards and applies this knowledge to all project work.
  • Demonstrate commitment to team excellence in delivery of all software projects and to Company core values.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

Minimum 2 years experience in software engineering

Experience working in a regulated environment preferred

 

Skills

  • Possess proficiency in object engineering and applications development using object oriented (OO) tools such as C++, Visual C++, C#, Python, etc.
  • Conducts research in design, development, testing, and utilization of electronic data processing hardware and software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Target Pay Range:  $89,200.00 to $111,400.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  7.0%
