JOB TITLE: Sr Manager, HR Plant Operations & Global Programs

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

The Sr Manager, HR Ops & Programs will partner with site leaders to ensure business strategies are defined and executed with supportive organizational and talent management plans. This leadership role will provide comprehensive Human Resources support for the full employee lifecycle to include: talent acquisition, total rewards (benefits & compensation) employee relations, organizational effectiveness and development, talent management, performance management, payroll, and employee relations. Serves as a key member of the site leadership team responsible for building strategic leadership and change management capabilities.

 

In addition to leading HR operations out of an existing TBCT plant, this role will lead large-scale global initiatives to ensure strong HR programs and enable a best-in-class employee experience. Plays a leading role in ensuring streamlined and standardized global HR operations programs. Defines approach for partnering with local teams when global programs are proposed. Ensures solutions are practical to execute and integrated into regional and functional operations via HR Plant Operations leads. Engages HR resources based in regional markets to implement and maintain programs delivered to local associates.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Leads a team of HR business professionals in support of the Costa Rica, Cartago manufacturing plant.
  • Builds and cultivates strong partnerships with senior leaders to offer thought leadership and execution of organizational and people-related tactics and strategy enabling a high-performing, engaged workforce.
  • Advises the business with organizational change and development direction, influencing leaders to align organizational design with business strategy.
  • Enhances current programs or develops new programs based on external trends and best practices. Collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence (Talent and Organization Development, Talent Acquisition, Compensation, People Analytics and Systems teams) in early design and implementation of HR programs.
  • Partners with HR Business Partners and Centers of Excellence to review and improve current HR operational practices, driving global alignment whenever possible. Ensures offerings are consistently applied throughout the Company and aligned with company strategy and values.
  • Collaborate with the HR leadership team, HR COE leadership, and other stakeholders to develop and continuously improve the end-to-end experience across the employee lifecycle while enhancing the associate experience.
  • Analyzes and presents relevant metrics and insights to the business to drive the focus and execution of strategy. Translates HR Analytics/Reports into strategic actions aligned with HR priorities and business requirements.
  • Serves as a trusted advisor and coach at all levels to navigate the complexities of managing sometimes global, matrixed teams, managing individual performance, career development, and succession planning.
  • Assists developing a high-performance culture, providing conflict resolution strategies, managing associate relations issues and performance management processes.
  • Provides candid feedback about talent moves, development, promotions, and growth opportunities.
  • Assesses talent risk for the functions and determines strategies to address and develop bench strength for succession and development.
  • Acts as liaison between the company and outside legal, change management consultants and other professional resources to ensure that all employment policies follow current laws and regulations in aligned markets.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • May serve on various Business/Corporate committees dealing with topics such as policies, employee morale compensation, and reward systems.
  • Champions, advocates and promotes the values, code of conduct, and behaviors of the Global HR function and positively represents TBCT.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 years of experience with a focus in 2 or more specific technical HR areas such as Talent Management (Talent Acquisition, Leadership Development, Talent Development), Workforce Planning (Operational Headcount Budgeting and Strategic Planning), and/or Org Optimization (Right-sizing or high-growth transformations, Organizational Analytics, Organizational Redesign).
  • Leading HR Operations out of an existing plant in the TBCT network.
  • 5 years demonstrated experience managing and operationalizing complex, global HR projects.
  • Experience in a matrixed global environment is preferred.
  • Significant experience handling sensitive employee relations matters with tact and diplomacy.
  • Broad knowledge of HR policies, practices, disciplines, and the full employee lifecycle.

  • In-depth understanding of human motivation and the ability to influence decision making in all functions and levels of the organization.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of local laws & regulations/legislation for aligned markets.
  • Requires rapid and thorough independent decision making and creative problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to accept personal and departmental accountability for areas of responsibility.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing to all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where change and ambiguity are common.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
