JOB SUMMARY

The S/4HANA Make to Deliver Business SME is a critical leadership role supporting the company’s global SAP S/4HANA transformation, with a primary focus on Make-to-Deliver (MTD) processes and shop floor execution. This role serves as the global operations subject matter expert for manufacturing execution, production planning, and materials management, ensuring that future-state SAP solutions enable reliable, efficient, and compliant shop floor operations.

 

This is a systems-focused role grounded in deep manufacturing expertise. This leader will act as a bridge between Global Operations, IT, and system integrators, translating operational realities into scalable system designs while ensuring ERP and shop floor execution systems work together seamlessly. The role is ideal for a leader with strong operational credibility, SAP expertise, and experience driving global transformation initiatives.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

S/4HANA Make-to-Deliver Leadership

  • Serve as the Make-to-Deliver (MTD) SME for the global SAP S/4HANA implementation, representing Global Operations in all design, build, test, and deploy activities.
  • Lead and influence the design of future-state MTD processes, ensuring alignment with global manufacturing standards and business strategy.
  • Represent Global Supply Chain and Materials Management in design sessions, including dependencies and hand-offs with related processes (e.g., LWM, FTP, Quality, Finance).

 

Shop Floor Execution & Systems Integration

  • Ensure SAP S/4HANA solutions effectively support shop floor execution, production planning, materials flow, and inventory accuracy.
  • Partner with MES, shop floor automation, and digital manufacturing teams to ensure tight integration between ERP and execution systems.
  • Advocate for operational usability, data integrity, and real-time visibility in system design decisions.

 

Translation Between Operations & Systems

  • Act as the primary liaison between Global Operations, IT, and system integrators.
  • Translate complex operational needs into clear functional requirements, user stories, and design specifications.
  • Interpret technical and configuration concepts into practical impacts for manufacturing leaders and frontline teams.

 

Design, Testing & Deployment Support

  • Collaborate with project team members and system integrators to validate functional and technical designs.
  • Participate in testing activities including UAT, data validation, integration testing, and cutover planning.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and operational impacts early; escalate and drive resolution in partnership with project leadership.

 

 

 

Change Management & Adoption

  • Support change management by contributing to training strategy, communication plans, and user readiness efforts.
  • Partner with site and regional leaders to ensure successful adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Ensure post-go-live stabilization, sustained system utilization, and continuous improvement across manufacturing sites, as needed.

 

Governance, Communication & Continuous Improvement

  • Deliver regular updates on progress, risks, and decisions to project and operations leadership.
  • Use system-enabled data to support performance visibility and ongoing process optimization.
  • Help establish governance models and standards that balance global consistency with local execution needs.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business Analytics, Engineering, or Business Administration (or equivalent experience).

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, production planning, materials management, or supply chain roles.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with SAP core functionality (PP, MM, and related modules), including strong understanding of configuration and data structures.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing or production environments, including interaction with MES or shop floor automation systems.
  • Proven experience working with and influencing global, cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in ERP implementations, business transformation, or large-scale process standardization initiatives.
  • Strong ability to operate at both the strategic and detailed execution levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with competing priorities.
  • Experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry strongly preferred.
  • Willingness to dedicate full-time effort to the S/4HANA transformation for a multi-year program duration.
