Job summary:

Responsible for developing, leading, and executing Strategic Sourcing and Procurement strategies. Drives total overall procurement cost down while continuously improving the company’s purchasing practices, processes, and systems. Manages supply base with significant supplier spend while implementing measures to mitigate supply risks. Provides work direction and leadership to procurement teammates in one or more key areas of operational strategy, system utilization and optimization, procurement process execution, metrics reporting, regulatory compliance and audit defense, and training and development. 

 

Essential duties:

  • Contribute to the development of long-range creative procurement strategies while designing and aligning procurement processes and policies within business requirements.
  • Independently, or collectively, implements procedures and processes in areas of delegated responsibility.
  • Responsible for minimizing cost and maximizing value in the procurement process by applying best / leading practices across area of responsibility, driving supplier rationalization strategies, leading supplier negotiations, bench marking and Make vs. Buy analysis, and other process improvements; lead and facilitate their implementation.
  • Provide work direction, leadership, and oversight of procurement, and cross functional  teams for assigned projects
  • Lead efforts and provide work direction to the procurement team for SAP system process improvements, standardization, and enhanced utilization.
  • Lead, mentor, develop, and provide work direction for buyer planners.
  • Develop and implement strategies for training to new or enhanced processes.
  • Lead and provide work direction to procurement professional in cost reduction programs and continuous improvement efforts. 
  • Participate in the RFx process along with other areas of the company to ensure Procurement perspective is represented.
  • Facilitate contract negotiations and liaison with the Legal department.
  • Drive supplier rationalization strategies including supplier management processes (scorecards, annual supplier performance reviews, etc.).
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with policies and programs in alignment with sourcing strategy; and that appropriate audit trails are embedded in procurement programs, for internal audit and performance management purposes.
  • Participate in processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders and other activities to meet business expectations and requirements as required.
  • Compile, analyze and draw conclusions from information gathered for planning, developing and evaluating business programs and operations. 
  • Makes recommendations as to operating policies, goals and objectives.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

Licenses or certifications:

  • APICS certification or willingness to work towards same.
  • CPM certification or willingness to work towards same.
  • Certified professional in Supply Chain Management (CPSM) certification or willingness to work towards same.

Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience
  • Strong background in manufacturing, ERP Systems, negotiations, and contracts make vs. buy analysis, and leadership training.
