JOB SUMMARY

Under low supervision, performs timely and accurate work on a range of standard testing, experiments, setup of raw materials, clean up of equipment, and other tasks related to the scientific or engineering fields in compliance with the Company and external regulatory guidelines, policies, and procedures.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs a range of standardized/routine and somewhat special testing procedures of environmental monitoring and product testing using standard tools.
  • Review sterilization documentation and completes the sterilization certificate.
  • Identifies standard trends or problems and helps to investigate and resolve them.
  • Performs standard equipment tests/inspections. Assists engineers, designers, or scientists in the simple design and building of tests protocols, test fixtures, prototypes, etc. commensurate with experience level.
  • Provides work direction, trains, and serves as a lead, coach, and mentor to less experienced technicians.
  • Handles expense material requisitions up to a level determined by the department.
  • Prepares and implements protocols and procedures involving known infectious or potentially infectious agents.
  • Maintains, accurately follows, and records protocols/procedures, laboratory quality records/documentation, and test logs.
  • Operates standard laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pH meter, and pipettes).
  • Attend meetings and capture important information or tasks related to Microbiology, good manufacturing practices and sterility.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Two-year technical degree or an equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions in the following lab sciences areas: microbiology, chemistry, math.

 

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience.

 

Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with general direction.
  • Ability to perform instrumental and classical methods of microbiology analysis.
  • Knowledge of laboratory supplies, equipment maintenance, and calibration.
  • Organizes and manages culture media, glassware and utensils for microbiology section.
  • Strong working knowledge of technical principles in assigned areas, and also statistical operations and analysis.
  • Aptitude to understand and apply guidelines.
  • Ability to follow regulatory requirements.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
