JOB TITLE:  Sr. Fixed Asset Accountant

 

JOB SUMMARY

Working independently along with the maintenance, monitoring and enhancing of the existing fixed asset subledger in SAP.  Other functions include generating detailed reports and financial analyses in support of various projects and business decisions.  Works closely with all manufacturing operations areas and corporate function organizations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Record fixed assets by creating and supervising a system of procedures, forms, and controls
  • Recommend any updates to accounting policies affecting fixed assets to management.
  • Record in the accounting system newly acquired fixed assets and disposals.
  • Track, compile, and record project costs in fixed asset accounts; close out the accounts at the completion of the projects
  • Supervise reconciliations of fixed asset subsidiary ledgers to summary-level accounts in the general ledger
  • Perform annual fixed asset physical inventories.
  • Recommend fixed assets that should be disposed or retired to management.
  • As may be requested by management, perform fixed asset related analyses.
  • Lead fixed asset related audit schedules, and collaborate with auditors on their assignments.
  • Utilizes expertise to interpret the various outside generated requirements and practices and determines their applicability to the business.
  • Ensures inventories are properly valued in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and assets are safely guarded.
  • Manage assets in leasing and the corresponding accounting.
  • Bring support to the manager in other accounting process.
  • Work with minimum supervision.
  • Ensure the fixed assets subledger and fiscal accounting is align with Procomer requirements.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong knowledge and experience of fixed assets and general ledger accounting
  • Strong proficiency with Excel and Word
  • SAP experience preferred, but not required
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Strong ability to work individually or in a team setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and time management skills necessary to meet time-sensitive deadlines
  • Strong ability to give attention to detail and to perform multiple tasks at the same time

An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or superior, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment

  • SAP experience preferred.
  • An advanced degree or certification, such as an MBA, CCE, CMA, CPI or Project Management beneficial.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical office environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
