JOB TITLE: Public Relations Specialist
The Public Relations Specialist will develop and execute PR and media strategies to expand the company’s presence across global markets, creating positive media attention. This role requires an experienced PR professional to enhance our brand’s visibility and reputation across various media, digital platforms, and regions.
Key responsibilities include developing, managing, and scaling global content, particularly in thought leadership areas such as clinical, advocacy, patient access and policy communications. The role involves expanding media relations beyond traditional healthcare trade press, executing thought leadership content with company subject matter experts, building media relationships in growth regions outside the United States, and supporting global and regional content campaigns focused on the company’s therapy areas, policy work and healthcare solutions. Creativity and the use of technology to incorporate analytics and data-driven insights are essential.
The position reports to the Senior Manager, Corporate Communications and is a member of the Global Corporate Communications team.
Essential Duties:
- Drive consistent and compelling company news and narratives, ensuring strategic alignment across regions
- Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets in global markets including healthcare and business media.
- Promote executives and subject matter experts in global media outlets
- Create ongoing news and content campaigns focused on the company’s key therapy areas, policy work, and healthcare solutions
- Work closely with regional media relations agencies to secure interviews, byline/oped opportunities
- Draft press releases, media pitches, byline articles, and other company announcements.
- Utilize social media platforms to promote thought leadership, news, and successes,
- Support crisis communications management.
- Monitor and analyze media coverage, industry trends, and PR campaign effectiveness using analytics tools, providing regular reports to senior management.
Minimum Qualification Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience
- Degree in Journalism or Communications preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience.
- Experience with creative development
- Working knowledge of AP Style.
Skills
- Proven experience in public relations, preferably within the healthcare sector.
- Strong track record of designing and executing successful PR campaigns at both local and international levels.
- Proven media relations skills with established contacts in business and industry media.
- Exceptional writing and editing skills.
- Experience in acting as a company spokesperson; comfortable and skilled in both broadcast and print media interviews.
- Solid experience with social media platforms and digital PR strategies.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of analytics tools for PR effectiveness and evaluation, along with experience in AI-powered content generation.
- Ability to navigate global communications with tailored messaging for regional relevance.
- Experience in proactive management of issues and media crises that may impact the company's brand.
Physical Requirements:
- Typical office environment requirements include reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Travel required up to 20%.
