PLANNING LEAD EMEA

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for designing, executing, and monitoring EMEA supply and inventory activities. Ensuring continuous and efficient supply of finished goods to all customers, using a minimum amount of inventory to maximize efficiency targets.

Next to the management of the local EMEA Inventory Planning team, the manager will execute as his/her team operational and tactical Inventory Planning tasks by the management of specific Business Units. 

 

ESSENTIAL MANAGER DUTIES

  • Maintain understanding, documentation, and communication of the global supply planning process design and Segment / Regional differences.
  • Understand and translate Regional business needs to inform potential changes to the global supply planning process design.
  • Responsible for decision making that includes any aspect of supply planning processes; support decisions that involve data, tools, or operating model considerations related to supply planning.
  • Own the performance of Supply planning process in partnership with region and Global Planning leadership.
  • Develop and implement methods, standard operating procedures and processes to maintain accurate inventory levels at regional locations and methods to dispose of discontinued and obsolete inventory items as needed.
  • Will play a key role in supporting the S&OP process and all related supply and inventory meetings and improvement projects.
  • Evaluates the skills and capabilities of the EMEA team – centralizing and regionalizing activities as appropriate to ensure successful completion of projects, leverage global capabilities, and maximize existing resources.

 

ESSENTIAL INVENTORY MANAGEMENT DUTIES

  • Management of stock levels in all trade stock locations (using MRP, inventory report, inventory repositioning, working with Sales, Demand Planner, Commercial, Marketing, Quality, Regulatory etc. to avoid obsolescence and  to manage spikes in demand etc.)
  • Manage and own the parameters in SAP that impact the MRP process
  • Handling & follow up of purchase orders ( internal and external stakeholders )
  • Execute and monitor processing of inbound flows: shipment notifications, inbound transactions, management of inbound discrepancies, link with accounting
  • Maximize product availability taking into account supply chain, technical, regulatory and quality constraints, in order to avoid stock-outs and over-stocks
  • Monitor and make (documented and approved) stock transactions to ensure recording of stock matches with physical reality
  • Manage stock levels in different warehouses ( transfer stock between EMEA warehouses, review stock levels… )
  • Prepare and handle yearly review stock level parameters ( spare parts reorder points, coverage profiles, lead times… )
  • Understand the Sales, Inventory  and Operations Planning process of the company, and work with it to plan product range changes (new products, phase out of products) and supply/inventory of product
  • Provide information and support required by internal customers (open order information, product availability info, info required by accounting...)
  • Administer planning systems and databases in order to assure accurate data (e.g. IDOC follow up)
  • KPI reporting where required
  • Co-ordinate  rework of stock (labelling, repack etc.) when needed with Warehouse.
  • Monitor inventory counting process in various locations and perform inventory control and reconciliation tasks
  • Be the back-up for Inventory Planners and other team members where required
  • Maintenance and execution of  SOP’s related to inventory planning, receipt, distribution and warehouse management

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the supply chain function, the last few in a leadership position.
  • Good experience/familiarity  with logistics processes: warehousing, order fulfillment, freight, customs
  • Good experience with reporting and analysis of Supply Chain Key Performance indicators

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • APICS and/or CPSM certification or willingness to work towards same.
  • MBA a plus
