JOB TITLE: LOGISTICS MANAGER EMEA

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Logistics Manager EMEA is responsible for the management of warehousing, transportation, distribution and trade compliance for finish goods and spare parts within EMEA (including Turkey and Larne logistics operations).

He or she will serve as subject matter expert in various supply chain distribution and logistics processes supporting the EMEA organization needs. He/she will actively contribute to the strategic development and direction of the Terumo BCT EMEA warehouses. He or she will have exceptional analytical skills and knowledge of warehouse and domestic and international transportation and will proactively identify, recommend and implement potential opportunities to achieve cost savings while maintaining high level of quality and customer service

The Logistics Manager provides leadership to the EMEA Logistics team and develops robust partnership with 3rd Party Logistics partners.

  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • In accordance with the global Logistics Strategy, he/she will develop and implement the EMEA logistics strategy to support the EMEA commercial organization with value added logistics service.
  • Demonstrate the ability to translate business trends and strategies into services and solutions as it relates to supply chain control, fulfillment and global distribution.  Create strategic visions with focus on our customers’ needs.
  • Work with Global Logistics to optimize EMEA inbound flows from TBCT manufactory plants (in Lakewood US, Fujinomiya Japan, Penpol India, and Larne North Ireland) and 3rd Party Suppliers, by promoting cost reductions and efficiencies.
  • Optimize EMEA outbound flow for direct markets and Distributors, in total more than 160 countries, by implementing initiatives for savings and service level improvements.
  • Developing EMEA strategic and tactical solutions for continuous improvement on EMEA service levels while balancing sales and financial interests (EMEA warehouse strategy, EMEA logistic services, EMEA region specific value added services, new supply chain concepts and practices).
  • Support and participate in the integration of the selected logistics strategy with the overall Terumo BCT business goals and objectives, as well as financial responsibilities and achieving results.

 

 

Warehousing and logistics

  • In accordance with the Global Warehouse strategy, responsible for the EMEA strategy for external warehouses and logistics service providers.
  • Communication and issue resolution with the regional warehouse and logistics providers
  • Responsible for all logistics activities in EMEA, from inbound freight operations, stock accuracy, stock movements, rework, outbound distribution, maximizing opportunities for increasing sales, with optimal cost , assuring quality and high service level performance.
  • Responsible for managing complex export and import process, involving export licenses, customs clearance, temporary export, VAT (tax) recovery, selecting the right partners in order to assure the right product on the right place at the right time.
  • Responsible for managing EMEA third party warehouses (Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Larne) and EMEA outbound freight operations by monitoring and controlling service providers, developing a culture of excellence and promoting best practices.
  • Drive and sustain continuous improvements in EMEA warehousing activities and EMEA shipping methods to keep excellent coordination in the receipt and delivery of products.
  • Support and align logistics strategy with Terumo BCT Medical Electronic in Leuven, by promoting cost savings, standardizing processes and sharing best practices.

 

 

  • Communication
  • Represent the Terumo BCT EMEA Supply Chain Organization in conferences, meetings, forums, projects involving Terumo Corporate, Terumo Europe, 3PLs, ...
  • Liaise with other functional/departmental managers and executives so as to understand all necessary aspects and needs of the logistics development, and to ensure they are fully informed of operational objectives, purposes and achievements.
  • Identify, define and develop pro-actively solutions to support the EMEA sales and commercial organization to reach their targets.
  • Be recognized as an expert in global logistics management and SAP business process.
  • Interface regularly with EMEA external customers (Direct & distributors) for alignment and to identify opportunities for improvement, taking into account customers needs and expectations. This includes face to face customer visits.
  • Responsible for the supply chain collaboration project between TerumoBCT EMEA and Terumo Europe.

 

  • Finance & Quality
  • Support annual EMEA logistics budget planning and development and ensure budget compliance by managing and controlling departmental expenditure.
  • Measure, monitor and report on a monthly basis on EMEA logistics opportunities and development plans and achievements. Ensure EMEA monthly KPIs are met, root cause analyses done and corrective actions implemented.
  • Report and communicate monthly KPI’s and results of EMEA logistics to the EMEA Organization and Terumo BCT management.
  • Represent the EMEA Supply Chain Organization for internal and external audits. Lead and perform audits to our 3PL warehouses (Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Larne) at least once per year.
  • Ensure optimal cost and high service level performance of the entire supply chain to provide top class service to customers.
  • Contribute to working capital improvement (reduce obsolete stock, target stocks, returns, damages)
  • Managing overall EMEA operational performance through process design, monitoring and continuous improvement.

 

  • HR & General
  • Recruit, manage, train and motivate the EMEA Logistics Team (in Belgium, Turkey and Larne) consisting of experts responsible for warehousing, transportation and inventory control according to company procedures and policies.
  • Supervise performance and career development of the team members.
  • Encourage EMEA Logistics team to work in cross-functional and/or cross organizational way.
