JOB SUMMARY

Under general or minimal supervision, supports business, information technology, or research/scientific/technical related projects or processes. He/she will engage in literature and data  analysis to address clinical & scientific questions in reference to Terumo BCT’s business. He/she may be called on to support, participate and/or drive special projects, such as marketing evaluations, internal and external education , publication execution. He/she will support scientific presentations and will support scientific sessions including congresses and training  programs for internal and external stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Performs planned work to accomplish project goals and provide experience and familiarization with business or IT processes, independent thinking, and company practices and policies.
  • Assists in accurate data entry into computer databases or company files. Actively participates in developing tools and resources for the scientific marketing team use to encourage consistency, transparency, and appropriate communication for both internal and external partnerships.
  • Works with customers to help them with data abstraction and publication of clinical, scientific or operational data related to Terumo BCT products.
  • Provides scientific support to the Terumo BCT organization in the preparation for regional and international congresses.
  • Provides, scientific and technical review and opinion as requested internally.
  • Displays a positive, proactive approach to problem solving that are routine or non-routine in nature within area of expertise.
  • Assists with literature reviews, data analysis and writing reports or summaries as necessary.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Completed Bachelor’s degree.
  • Completed or working towards PhD.

 

Experience

No prior experience required.

 

Skills

  • Didactic skills: ability to educate customers (clinicians, laboratory people) on scientific troubleshooting activities and data review/analysis
  • Independent contributor with entrepreneurial mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing in English (additional European languages are a plus)
  • Strong overall communication skills and interpersonal savvy
  • Demonstrated ability to be diplomatic; able to work with a highly focused multi-disciplinary team
  • Ability to analyze problems, contribute to decisions, and assist in the design and implementation of solutions to resolve business or research issues that are moderate to intermediate in complexity.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Experience with laboratory and clinical methods in hematology/blood banking/transfusion medicine is an asset

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting, up to 20 pounds.
