JOB TITLE: Benefits Specialist EMEA


JOB SUMMARY
For our Terumo Blood & Cell Technologies EMEA HQ based in Zaventem, BE, we are currently looking for a Benefits Specialist who will be responsible for the benefits administration of our schemes in EMEA. Our EMEA region consists of 25 countries.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

 

Tactical:

  • Our Global Benefits team governs all contracts with brokers and insurance companies and ensures all relevant contracts and SLAs are in place
  • Translate the strategic choices made by Global Benefits to practical use in the EMEA region, tailoring the communication in various ways to ensure the message is understood by all associates throughout Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.
  • Continually monitor the market for trends, present recommendations on initiatives and influence stakeholders through data and thoughtful interpretation of findings
  • Work with the Global Total Rewards team on global projects and global benefits schemes

 

Transactional:    

  • Manage vendor relationships (e.g., insurance brokers and benefits carriers in 25 countries) to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant administration of assigned programs. This includes, but is not limited to, renewals, policy changes, updates about enrolled associates, invoices, etc.
  • Maintain structured overview of EMEA benefits (average 3-4 plans in each of our 25 countries) and keep information up to date, both locally and towards our Global Benefits team.
  • Continually evaluate current practices to find better ways of getting the job done, innovative ways to solve problems, and employ a hands-on approach
  • Work together with EMEA Payroll, HR Business Partners, external brokers, and consultants to (design and) implement and renew benefit programs; be the point of contact for HR Partnering teams and payroll team for escalations related to benefits, striving to resolve issues promptly and efficiently
  • Design and implement the Benefits communication plan for delivering presentations and information sessions to enhance associates’ understanding of available benefits
  • Respond to all benefits-related questions from associates throughout EMEA. You will be the first point of contact to communicate, interpret, and guard the Terumo BCT benefit policies across EMEA.
  • Partner with payroll with the implementation of new programs and changes to plans and/or administrative procedures 
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, HR, economics, or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in Human Resources Administration/Operations/Reward activities and/or HR projects. 

 

Skills

  • Solutions and client service-oriented, end-to-end accountability, problem-solving skills, growth & agile mindset in ambiguous situations
  • Multi-cultural acceptance, ability to collaborate and communicate effectively in team, cross-functionally and internationally
  • Strong and precise work ethic, ability to focus on details and numbers combined with good analytical skills, strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP) 
  • Project management skills and a strong sense of ownership are also required for this role
  • Working knowledge of EMEA labor environment and country regulations
  • Possess high level of integrity. Be widely trusted, direct, and truthful, with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships and gain trust
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, including presentation generation and delivery, 
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. Additional languages are an asset
