Logistics Manager (LATAM)

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

This position provides support to the LATAM Supply Chain organization. This position will provide strategic development, direction and overall management of Terumo BCT LATAM Warehouse, Logistics, and Transportation organization. The position oversees and optimizes the flow of goods and materials within Latin America, ensuring efficient and cost-effective operations. The assigned position includes but is not limited to the essential duties and responsibilities defined below.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES

  • Responsible for the LATAM warehouse, logistics, and transportation functions for Terumo BCT.
  • Develops and directs implementation of plans of the LATAM warehouse, logistics, and transportation to achieve cross-functional goals.
  • Responsible for managing both third-party logistics providers and internal logistics operations, optimizing warehousing, transportation, and order fulfillment.
  • Responsible for the development of the optimal LATAM warehouse and logistics strategy that best meets the global customer contract requirements, global inventory optimization, and LATAM SIOP requirements.
  • Responsible for the LATAM transportation functions, including trade and security regulatory compliance.
  • Responsible for the development of the LATAM warehouse and logistics processes for Terumo BCT.
  • Responsible for LATAM assurance of supply chain compliance in a regulatory environment.
  • Responsible for the successful relationship and contract management of the existing Terumo BCT LATAM warehouse and logistics supplier relationships, agreements, processes/systems development and improvement. 
  • Accountable and responsible for the integration of the selected logistics strategy with the overall Terumo BCT business goals and objectives, as well as financial responsibilities and achieving results.
  • Provides key support and initiative in the Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) processes.
  • Continuously monitoring and analyzing logistics and warehouses performance, identifying areas for improvement in areas like warehouse capacity, last-mile freight, and international freight.
  • Works with internal and/or external resources to resolve problems of exceptional complexity and sensitivity. 
  • Participates and promotes staff participation on cross-functional and/or inter organizational teams. 
  • Directs the development and management of budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Provide support for LATAM and Global Logistics Projects as required.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

 

Experience

  • Requires six or more years of experience in warehouse, logistics, and transportation in a Global environment.
  • Demonstrated management experience with regional and domestic warehouse operations, logistics network modeling, transportation modes and requirements, international shipping requirements, import/export compliance and management, warehouse management, and warehouse facility operations, including benefits and risks of shipping modes and storage method alternatives.
  • Experience in the medical or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in inventory control methods, inventory expiration requirements, and achieving metrics.
  • Proven leadership and managerial abilities demonstrated by developing, coaching, and training others in an organizational setting.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

CTL (Certification in Transportation and Logistics) and / or) CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) preferred.
