JOB TITLE: Sr. Manager, Strategic Commercial Development, North America

 

JOB SUMMARY

As an integral member of the North America Commercial Organization, helps to monetize and visualize Terumo BCTs solutions and software for all of Terumo BCT’s North Amrican business to drive value and price.  Responsbile for developing and supporting customer facing financial and manufacturing tools that support the Whole Blood Automation, Automated Collections, Cell and Gene Therapy, and Therapeutic businesses in North America.

 

Responsible to assess complex business opportunities including cross-functional, high-priority and high impact collaboration agreements between internal partners and customers. Moves a deal forward from beginning to end.  Employing a breadth of industry knowledge, including manufacturing operations, scientific, clinical/physician, and market/market access, analyze the potential commercial impact of new opportunities. Develops business cases for opportunities of interest and compellingly communicate the value of the opportunity to customers and key stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provide thought leadership, analysis, and insight to shape North America’s value across business and functions in support of its aspiration.  Ensure decisions are focused, specific, and actionable to maintain market relevance and strengthen our competitive position.
  • Develop business cases for high-potential opportunities including strategic assessment, revenue projections, and implications for commercial implementation.  Provides guidance to analysts in development of detailed financial model and identifies key variables that drive costs and revenue
  • Using data and analysis (external and internal) representing alternative paths to drive strateguc value. Develop and introduce data backed decisions. 
  • Provide consulting and leadership for high impact, cross-enterprise projects that have the potential to transform the commercial strategy for North American Business Areas.
  • Become trusted partner of TBCT Business Areas, understand product pipelines and roadmaps, and advise on potential opportunities to augment the business.
  • Build relationships within Innovation & Development department to work collaboratively in evaluation of early stage opportunities both from Ideation and from industry / external companies.  Ensure and provide commercial perspective in developing business cases and financial analyses.
  • Collaborates with other Regions on best practices and value tool development within Business Areas.
  • Attend industry conferences, build relationships with industry innovators and emerging companies, build and communicate to key stakeholders intelligence on potentially disruptive technologies, products, or business models and identify potential alliance opportunities.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or, equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.  MBA preferred.

 

Experience

Minimum 8 years experience.

 

Experience in healthcare, medical devices, biotech or pharmaceuticals with varied functional background including, product marketing, business development, market access and product development, with at least 5 years of scientific capacity.

Clinical knowledge or technical experience in relevant therapeutic growth areas a plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand evolving scientific, market and regulatory trends as well as the current and future needs in the medical device and biotechnology industry.
  • Financial analysis skills including ability to evaluate strategic, operational and financial implications of diverse growth opportunities.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Target Pay Range:  $159,400.00 to $199,200.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  20.0%
