The Digital Experience and Marketing Technology Leader is an instrumental role that drives the digital strategy for our next generation of digital technologies and brand awareness. This leader is responsible for developing the overall digital and social omnichannel plans to attract customers and optimize their digital experience.


Leads the development and execution of omnichannel campaigns for varying audiences through a deep understanding and application of digitally driven customer insights while providing recommendations that increase conversion rates across digital platforms.


Drives overall quality, vision, innovation, strategy, and execution of digital marketing deliverables produced for the company.  Provides oversight for the Terumo Blood and Cell Technologies digital marketing ecosystem and teams, as well as external partners. Monitors input across various channels to improve existing processes and develop new processes and services.


Stays current with and provides insight on innovation related to the shifting digital landscape with respect to new business models, platforms, and technologies, and introduces to support company brand and commercial objectives with measurable performance outcomes.



Strategy and Management

  • Be at the forefront of various digital projects where digital marketing informs IT decision making.
  • Manage, support, and develop a team of in-house digital experts, who reflect the latest capabilities with marketing and customer experience technology, strategic vision, and operational deployment.
  • Develop and meet departmental objectives that align with the company’s Critical Commitments.
  • Establish strong partnerships with direct extended agency and production house partners to deliver optimal cost-benefit and fully leverage their capabilities to complement the creative team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and strong partnership between creative and digital teams together with those of business lines and the marketing and technology teams, driving mutually advantageous and impactful solutions to business objectives.
  • Devise a strategic roadmap methodology for identification of key markets and marketing processes.
  • Develop and implement the digital marketing technology strategy for the enterprise and lead partnership efforts with the business for cross-platform integration.
  • Budget and resource planning and allocation.
    Digital Direction, Thought Leadership and Execution
  • Leads creation and refinement of digital omni-channel marketing campaigns with measurable outcomes.
  • Develops strategies and commercial digital roadmaps to enable an effective launch of new campaigns.
  • Manages investment in digital marketing and partners with IT to identify the right platforms and tools needed to achieve business objectives.
  • Foster a learning environment for successful pilot programs with new technologies and channels, upon successful pilot completion implement plan for broader deployment.
  • Establish the company’s position as a thought leader in the medical device industry for digital experience.
  •   Direct complex, large-scale project activities across multiple functions which effectively harness the full capabilities of the creative and digital teams.
  • Drive customer-centric strategies, which shape a cohesive brand experience and drive results.
  • Entrench brand guidance that ensures consistent alignment with brand standards yet encourages new interpretations and approaches to foster company growth.
  • Hands-on involvement in linking current legacy systems and technologies, with future technology platforms, establishing a foundation and ability to drive meaningful analytics to support/make business decisions.
  • Use data to track market trends and customer actions to inform strategic decisions and to prove ROI of digital channels for marketing campaigns.
  • Establish appropriate digital governance, processes, disaster recovery and business continuity plan for digital technologies.
    Govern digital technology standards, usage, and licensing to optimize costs and data policies.
    Staff Development and Team Leadership
  • Develop a work culture that promotes a free, lively, creative, and engaged community, fostering a team spirit that organically reflects the best of the team’s individual strengths and creates a strong sense of collaboration across functions.
  • Lead professional development efforts of future digital leaders at the company and create opportunities for continuous learning/feedback.
  • Coach, energize and provide team members recognition which results in high employee engagement and excellent job satisfaction.
    Client Service
  • Create a unified digital vision, strategy and experience across multiple touchpoints and stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships with internal business partners to advance the team as credible, trusted advisors.
  • Identify digital marketing opportunities to support overall business objectives.
  • Scope programs and resource plans to be simple and effective utilizing LEAN concepts - balancing business partners desires, business requirements, marketing strategies and deliverables with LEAN objectives
  • Assess and vet a thorough articulation of the business needs, objectives and concerns managers and business partners may have thorough communication and outstanding relationship management.
  • Develop self-service digital tools, workflow processes, training and regular connection points that focus on empowering internal clients.
  • Train internal stakeholders in the omni-channel digital vision, lead the standards of use globally for digital marketing platforms and technology implementations, and improvements.





Bachelor’s degree in marketing, digital marketing, technology, computer science, or related field



Minimum 10 years of experience in architecting and executing best-in-class digital marketing experiences and developing digital technology solutions, including omni-channel marketing.

Extensive experience leading global projects, web launch for products and promotions, demonstrating ROI, as well as developing cohesive digital experiences across web, email, and app.



  • Ability to think innovatively with strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Ability to navigate the organization’s matrix for successful inputs.
  • Demonstrated skills in negotiation strategies to be able to manage differing viewpoints so the final product remains true to the objective.
  • Ability to manage associates with diverse skills including front and backend developers, AR/VR, 3D animation, video/audio, media buying, social media, copywriting, SEO, analytics, design.
  • Ability to recommend and deploy programs to achieve customer and business objectives through understanding of business models, customer acquisition, retention strategies and strategic plan.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, along with developing strong relationships in-person and remotely.


An equivalent competency level acquired through a variation of these qualifications may be considered.

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 20 pounds.

Target Pay Range:  $126,900.00 to $158,700.00  -  Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data
Target Bonus on Base:  20.0%
