JOB SUMMARY:

Terumo BCT is looking for an experienced Contract Manager to support the continued growth in our Law Department. In this newly-created role, the Contract Manager will maintain the process for obtaining funding and manage the administration of externally-funded agreements, including Government contracts and grants.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Obtain an understanding of the corporate strategic plan and of the company’s existing awards (grants and contracts, Federal and commercial)
  • Establish and maintain rapport with our customer representatives
  • Manage award lifecycles from customer requests through agreement closeout
  • Maintain an effective partnership with the Legal, Compliance, Accounting, Finance, Innovation and Development, and Contract Administration Departments
  • Identify and present funding opportunities that support corporate strategic planning
  • Administer the preparation of bids / proposals
  • Prepare bid / proposal and contract budgets
  • Lead negotiations with customers / potential customers
  • Facilitate the execution of customer contracts and distribute the resulting contract requirements to internal stakeholders
  • Monitor and perform grant / contract administrative requirements
  • Monitor contract revenue and expenses incurred in performance of the contract
  • Manage customer relationships
  • Perform grant / contract closeouts

 

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

  • Minimum six (6) years of progressive experience in managing / administering contracts
  • Working knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and agency-specific FAR supplements
  • Ability to learn and apply new or changing customer requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and process driven with the ability to maintain accuracy while performing activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams

 

PREFERRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Certified Commercial Contract Manager, Certified Federal Contract Manager, or Certified Professional Contract Manager certifications preferred
  • Experience in Research & Development, Medical Device, Biotechnology, or Pharmaceutical fields
  • General understanding of Good Clinical Practice and/or Good Laboratory Practice requirements
  • Experience working within a matrix environment
