Terumo BCT is looking for a Contract Administrator to support the continued growth of our Contracts Administration team. Manage and administer purchases in support of research and related activities, from the initial request through the closeout of any resulting agreements, for various departments, including Clinical Affairs, Innovation & Development teams, and other departments who contract with healthcare providers.  An effective Contract Administrator will work with the requesting Associate to define the need, pull from their experience and Terumo BCT practices to identify the most efficient procurement method, execute and administer the vendor agreement, and ensure that all deliverables and agreement requirements are met, all while maintaining effective partnerships with the vendor, requestor, Legal, Compliance, Accounting, and Finance Departments.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Act as a cross-functional liaison with other Terumo BCT departments, including Clinical Affairs, other Innovation & Development teams, and other departments who contract with healthcare providers
  • Assist requestors with drafting technical requirements and specifications
  • Perform market assessments to identify potential vendors and costs
  • Identify / recommend preferred procurement method
  • Compile technical, legal, compliance, Government contracting, and Terumo BCT specific requirements and assign weighted values to proposal review criteria into solicitations
  • Lead proposal evaluation teams and assist in assigning rankings to the proposals received
  • Execute agreements with selected vendors and follow internal processes to vet the selected vendors
  • Perform contract administrative requirements, including the review of invoices and compliance with contract terms and conditions, as well as, the coordination of agreement amendments
  • Monitor spending for transparency reporting requirements, including the Federal Sunshine Act and other relevant laws
  • Manage vendor relationships
  • Perform contract closeouts

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job

 

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years experience in authoring / managing vendor agreements

 

Required Competencies

  • Ability to learn and apply new or changing requirements to existing and prospective vendor agreements
  • Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented and process driven with the ability to maintain accuracy while performing activities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams

 

PREFERRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in Research & Development, Medical Device, Biotechnology, or Pharmaceutical fields
  • Experience issuing or administering subawards / subcontracts under Federally funded grants / contracts
  • Experience working within a matrix environment
  • General understanding of Good Clinical Practice and/or Good Laboratory Practice requirements
