Works without significant direction, plans and organizes sales related activities to generate territory sales and monitor trends.  As primary sales contact for the customer, Territory Manager is responsible for the coordination of all sales, training, and service needs of customers.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Generates necessary sales to meet or exceed territory sales goals and achieves appropriate sales prices by effectively scheduling, planning and executing sales calls. 
  • Prioritizes accounts and works with Regional Manager to determine coverage, assesses opportunity, and develops new business. 
  • Identifies leads and drives new sales opportunities in hospitals, surgery centers and clinical settings.
  • Coordinates and utilizes available resources to provide customer care, case coverage and resolve customer issues.   
  • Prepares monthly sales plans and analysis for review with manager.
  • Maintains account/customer profiles customer contact information and account plans for assigned customer accounts utilizing available sales tools.
  • Manages budget and expenses, adheres to company policies, and communicates effectively with corporate and field associates.
  • Continuously increases and sharpens therapy and technical knowledge as well as clinical selling, negotiating, and presentation skills.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional partners including Sales management, Clinical Specialists, Customer Service, Distributors, Contract Administration, Terumo affiliates and other business areas within Terumo BCT to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to meeting customer needs.

     

Additional Duties:

  • Attend surgical procedures and provide technical expertise to physicians in sterile operating room environment (ie. Case coverage)
  • Works closely with customer service, distributors and hospitals to ensure seamless order management process
  • Act as backup to manage inventory at distributors and hospitals to ensure product traceability, accurate replenishment orders and appropriate disposition of expired product.
  • Responsible for conducting customer in-service training on appropriate technologies.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.  Prefer science degree or background.

 

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of successful sales experience in a clinical and hospital selling environment.

 

Skills

  • Sound understanding of the Business's sales strategies and philosophies.
  • Knowledge of anatomy,
  • Ability to operate in a sterile surgical environment
  • Demonstrated success in using sales techniques and clinical selling skills.
  • Thorough understanding of hospital call points, buying influencers and health economic value propositions
  • Ability to manage account processes using a sales force automation application in compliance with business rules and user guidelines.
  • Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • A valid Driver’s License is required.
  • Ability to complete hospital credentialing processes

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Typical Office Environment requirements include: reading, speaking, hearing, close vision, walking, bending, sitting, and occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
