<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif"> In the fields of immunotherapy and cell therapy technologies the Sr MSL acts as a scientific and medical bridge between Terumo BCT and the academic medical community. He is responsible for establishing relationships with the relevant key academic based physicians/scientists, related medical associations and patient organizations.  The position will be involved with clinical & scientific data exchanges on a range of cell collection and cell therapy technologies; participate in clinical presentations, medical congresses, training sessions, medical information services, and research and special projects within the organization to assist in the business direction of the organization and the CTT and ECP therapeutic areas.

 

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Acts as a mentor and trainer for other MSLs of junior or entry level.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Prepares and conducts Advisory Boards with key thought leaders in the immunotherapy and cell therapy technologies therapeutic areas to inform the organization on specific directions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Leads key symposia and internal meetings on behalf of Medical Affairs
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Leads special assignments or special projects on behalf of Medical Affairs and acts as a business partner within  cross-functional teams
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Develops and maintains professional scientific relationships in the CTT & ECP therapeutic areas critical to Terumo BCT with thought leaders in key academic and community-based medical centers, with medical professional associations and patient advocacy groups.  
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Serves as a primary Medical Affairs contact involved with clinical, scientific and medical information exchanges. These exchanges may be verbal, written or through electronic inquiries (MIRF) from healthcare professionals on cell collection and cell therapy technologies.  Assignments may include writing and revising standard response letters to address medical information questions.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Ensures timely submissions of periodic monitoring report forms for Terumo BCT-supported investigator-initiated studies.  The position works with these investigators to ensure that they have access to needed relevant information regarding Terumo BCT products during the course of their study.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Conducts formal clinical presentations to essential groups as requested by healthcare professionals, managed markets, hospital therapeutic committee members, key accounts and so forth, along with presentations of pharmacoeconomic data in accordance with company policies, applicable laws, regulatory guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Attends & provides coverage at national & regional medical education venues (congresses, conferences, symposia).
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Maintains expert knowledge and understanding of clinical, scientific, and technical information in In the fields of immunotherapy and cell therapy technologies through continuously reviewing relevant literature and attending conferences and networking with experts.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">May lead and/or coordinate special projects as it relates to training, presentation and slide kit development, advisory board development, speaker development & training, journal club, clinical bulletin summaries, literature searches, and other related duties as assigned.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Education

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Advanced degree: Medical Doctor (MD), Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), a PhD in science or equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job may be considered.

  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Requires high technical competence, strong interpersonal creative & analytical skills and clinical experience to achieve the above working relationships/responsibilities.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Must have excellent organizational skills; be self-directed and work independently and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Have the ability to understand, interpret and communicate complex scientific and medical information and data. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Be able to demonstrate excellent written/oral communication & presentation skills and be effective  with conversing with key opinion leaders, healthcare professionals and patients. 
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Have the ability to deliver formal responses to healthcare professional’s specific medical questions through analysis of the literature in order to assure accurate, timely, unbiased, fair-balanced and up-to-date medical & scientific information, while keeping within legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Knowledge and use of relevant PC software applications and skills to use them effectively.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Knowledge and use of project management tools and ways of working.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Native in any of the EMEA country’s language and fluency in English is required.  

 

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Additional Physical Requirements

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">This position is located in EMEA, reporting to Senior Medical Affairs manager in Brussels.

<span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">The associate must be able to manage demanding travel schedule (sometimes up to 70%), and requiring schedule flexibility with sometimes evening and weekend time commitments.
