JOB TITLE: Cell Therapy Technology Sales Consultant

JOB SUMMARY

 

Develop and maintain current cell therapy business, selling medical devices and accompanying disposables for the Cell Therapy Technology (CTT) business unit of Terumo BCT across various customer segments such as Biotech/Pharma, Academic institutions and hospitals and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMO)/CDMO and others developing cell therapies. CTT devices include Quantum, FINIA, , SCDIIB and TSCD-Q. Responsible for the coordination of all sales, contract negotiation, engagement of qualification and training by Cell Processing Specialists, and service needed by customers. Works without significant direction, with the ability to plan and organize own activities to achieve annual goals. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Sales achievement:

  • Generates necessary sales of Cell Therapy Technology (CTT) products including Quantum, FINIA, & TSCD-Q) and cross selling across Terumo BCT divisions to meet or exceed sales goals and achieve appropriate sales prices; tracks and analyzes progress.
     

Sales process & Territory Management:

  • Able to prioritize accounts and multi-task to determine optimal coverage, assess opportunity, and develop new business.
  • Coordinates and manages resources to provide necessary customer service.  Prepares weekly and monthly plans, monitors sales funnel, tracks and analyzes progress and trends, and prepares monthly and annual territory sales forecasts and business plan.
  • Maintains customer and contract profiles in Salesforce.com (CRM). 
  • Develops account plans for key accounts. 
  • Manages contract pricing renewals and service contracts in close relationship with the global team to ensure alignment for global customers. 
  • Collaborate and involve the distributors in the sales process for countries where we have no direct subsidiaries
  • Develops consultative role to manage customer training needs, facilitates training for Cell Processing Specialists, support account management by in-country sales resources where applicable, support customer service and relationship building between our organizations.
  • Responsible for conducting customer in-service demonstration & sales presentations on appropriate technologies in collaboration with the Cell Processing Specialist.
  • Plans and makes sales calls to achieve sales goals.  Evaluates and redesigns future contacts.
  • Collaborate and support the regional marketing organization to develop/design strategies to develop cell therapy business in EMEA including feeding back the inputs of the voice of the customer.

Administration/Internal Communications:

  • Manages budget and expenses, adheres to company policies and communicates effectively with corporate and other Terumo BCT field and internal associates, such as marketing, customer service, regulatory and quality and Innovation & Development.
  • Provides cell therapy technical and operational consultation to commercial cell therapy manufacturers, internal stakeholders, Commercial Manufacturing Organizations (CMO’s), academic institutions, and others involved in cell therapy during pre-sale, implementation, and post-implementation phases for the Cell Therapy product line. 
     

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Education

  • Degree in Business or Life Sciences Knowledge necessary to perform in this position is generally acquired through a minimum of 4 years sales or commercial experience in a healthcare environment.

 

Experience

  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant sales experience in a consultative selling environment;
  • Experience in life sciences industry in medical device, regenerative medicine/stem cell culture, or biotechnology preferred
  • Willingness to continuously increase and sharpen therapy and technical knowledge as well as selling, negotiating, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in creating & implementing sales strategies
  • Demonstrated advanced selling skills and proven success

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Travel may require 30% to 40% of time with 20% overnight travel
  • Reporting to: Sales manager CTT
  • Preferred location is  Central eastern Europe (CEE) but flexible if close to an international airport in order to be active in CEE, but also middle east and other countries depending on the location of the candidate
